How to Install the Head of BBW Sex Dolls

How to Install the Head of BBW Sex Dolls

For most full size sex dolls, the head and body are separated at the factory. That’s standard packaging, not a shipping mistake.

But bbw sex doll is heavier overall, so when you move it, turn it over, or adjust its position, it has more inertia.

The head-neck connection is the only connection point between the head and the body. The heavier the body, the more obvious the twisting force, pulling force, and wear on that connection point. If it’s installed carelessly, it may seem fine at the time, but after a few uses it will become loose, wobbly, or even fall off.

This guide covers how to identify the interface on a sex doll head, how to install it correctly, and how to inspect and maintain it.

Before You Install: Figure Out Which Connector Your Doll Uses

Don’t rush to screw anything on. First check the packaging accessories, connector, the bottom of the head, and the neck interface. Different brands and models may use completely different connection methods. Here are the main types you’ll come across.

1. M16 Standard Fully Threaded Screw

This is the most common type. The screw is threaded at both ends and is usually used for full size sex doll. To install it, align the screw with the connection opening on the doll’s neck, then gently rotate and tighten it. The M16 system makes it easy to install, remove, or replace the head, is safe to operate, and usually does not damage TPE or silicone material.

If you have a doll with a standard M16 interface and want to switch to a sex doll head with a different appearance, as long as the new head is also M16, you can simply remove the old one and install the new one without modifying the body interface. That’s why M16 is so widely compatible.

M16 is currently the most common thread specification in the doll industry. Brands such as WMDoll, Irontechdoll, and Starpery Doll all use this standard. The neck interfaces of most TPE sex dolls and full size silicone sex dolls are also M16.

2. M8 Quick Connector and M8/M16 Double-Ended Thread

Some brands use an M8 quick connector, with an M8 thread on the head side and an M16 interface on the body side. The packaging usually includes an M8/M16 double-ended bolt. To install it, first screw the M8 end into the bottom of the head, then align the quick connector with the hole in the neck, and gently press or tap the top of the head until it clicks into place.

If you bought a bbw sex doll, it’s heavy. After installation, don’t just look at the appearance. Gently shake the head with your hand to confirm that both the buckle and the threads are bearing the load properly and that nothing is loose before you keep using it.

The brands that use M8 quick connectors mainly include the following:

  • Zelex: Plug-in connection, with the bolt fixed inside the head. If the head wobbles after installation, use a hex key to slightly adjust the neck adjustment screw to reduce the gap; if the head can’t be installed all the way down, increase the gap. When changing the head, it’s best to use original factory parts.
  • MRL: Some products are compatible with M8 screw heads. When buying, check whether the page says compatible with M8 screw head. Note that some MRL models also use an M8 rear hanging point. That’s for stand connection and is not the same as the head connection.

  • Bezlya: Mainly uses an M8 rear hanging point for stand compatibility. The head and body are usually sold as a complete set, so the flexibility for replacing the head alone is lower than with the M16 universal interface. If you want to change the head or use a stand, confirm the current model specifications with the brand first.

A final reminder: if the head has an M8 hole and the neck has an M16 opening, you must use an M8/M16 double-ended bolt. A pure M16 rod can be screwed into the neck but not into the head, and a pure M8 rod can go into the head but can’t connect to the neck.

Forcing it will strip the threads. When removing the head, support the doll’s lower jaw and cheeks with both hands and pull the head straight upward. Don’t pull it with one hand.

3. Quick Push-In Adapter

A quick push-in adapter is usually a cylindrical connector with internal jaws and side holes, and it needs to be adjusted with a hex key. It gives you a stable connection that resists wobbling.

Common hex key sizes are 3–5 mm. When adjusting, the longer the jaws extend, the firmer the connection; but if it’s too loose, the head may slide down due to weight, and if it’s too tight, it will damage the threads or jaws.

4. Multi-Angle Rotating Connector Rod

There’s also a newer type of multi-angle rotating connector rod. One end is inserted into the body and the head, and the middle is connected with a ball buckle, allowing the sex doll head to rotate at multiple angles. If you want the head to be able to adjust its angle, this type is more flexible. During installation, usually fix one end first, then connect the other end, adjust the angle, and lock it. For specific steps, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Tools and Positioning Before Installation

Tool Preparation

Most accessory packs include everything you need. Before starting, confirm you have: an M16 or M8 fully threaded screw, an M8 quick connector or push-in adapter, a 3–5 mm hex key, a 5–10 mm thick soft mat or yoga mat, and a clean soft cloth. Thread specifications may differ by brand. Before buying extra accessories, confirm the model of your life size sex doll first.

Posture and Support

A regular doll can be installed on a bed, but a bbw sex doll is heavy and tends to sink into a bed or soft sofa. That makes it hard for you to apply force, and easy for the doll to tip over. It’s best to place the doll on a hard floor or hard base board, with its back against a wall or sofa arm for stable support, and put a 5–10 mm soft mat underneath to protect the surface. If the doll is especially heavy, you can use an electric stand with sufficient load capacity to secure the doll at a suitable working height and free both hands.

Two Things to Watch Out for with BBW Sex Dolls

Don’t hold the head to adjust the neck position. BBW sex dolls are heavy and have great inertia. Turning or lifting the doll by the head will make the neck connector bear leverage far beyond its design, which can easily bend the screw or strip the threads. To adjust the position, support the torso with both hands from the shoulders or armpits, so the head bears only its own weight.

Proper Handling and Positioning of BBW Sex Dolls
Proper technique for positioning a heavy BBW sex doll.

Kneel or sit to the side or behind the doll during installation, and use your body or legs to help stabilize the torso. Don’t rely on only one hand to control the entire body. Move slowly, and don’t leave during installation. Once a BBW doll tips over, it can easily damage the head or body.

Step-by-Step Installation

Standard Fully Threaded Screw (M16)

  1. Slowly screw the threaded screw clockwise into the slot at the bottom of the head. Screw it in about two-thirds of the way first, and don’t fully tighten it yet. M16 threads have relatively low resistance, so make sure they are fully engaged.
  2. Hold the head with both hands and align the rod with the threaded interface on the neck. Keep it vertical, apply gentle pressure, and rotate the head in the direction in which the threads naturally engage until it is fully seated against the neck. If the rotational resistance suddenly increases, stop immediately and don’t force it.
  3. Check stability. Gently shake the head left and right to make sure there is no looseness or abnormal movement.

Push-In Adapter

  1. Screw the adapter clockwise fully into the slot at the top of the neck until it is tight.
  2. Hold the head at a 45° angle so that the hole in the base aligns with the adapter. Then lower the head to a horizontal position and slowly rotate it clockwise. Pause every 180° of rotation to check alignment. Stop when the head is fully seated; don’t overtighten. Long rods usually require an additional 1–2 turns; short rods engage faster, so avoid using too much force.
  3. Finally, shake the head to confirm there is no wobbling or abnormal noise.

M8 Quick Connector

1. Screw the M8 bolt into the screw hole at the bottom of the head.

3. Gently tap or press the top of the head until the connector clicks into place. Don’t hit it violently.

Step 3: Pressing or lightly tapping the head until secured.

When removing, support the doll’s lower jaw and cheeks with both hands and pull the head straight upward. Be sure to use both hands to avoid the head flying off and being damaged.

Multi-Angle Rotating Connector Rod

One end of this connector rod is inserted into the body and the head, and the middle is connected with a ball buckle, allowing the head to rotate at multiple angles. During installation, usually fix one end first, then connect the other end, adjust the angle, and lock it. Please follow the manufacturer’s instructions for specific steps.

After Installation: Checks, Adjustments, and Maintenance

1. Adjusting the Quick-Connect Adapter

Use a hex key to adjust the tightness. Insert the hex key vertically into the adjustment hole and turn it clockwise to adjust. The longer the jaws extend, the firmer the connection. If it’s too loose, the head may slide down due to weight; if it’s too tight, it will damage the threads or jaws.

2. Daily Maintenance

Don’t remove the head within 24 hours after the first installation; let the connection settle. As for inspection frequency, BBW sex dolls can be checked more often than regular dolls because their greater weight may cause faster wear. When moving the doll, be sure to support the connection point between the head and neck. Don’t lift the head alone. BBW sex dolls have great inertia, and lifting the head alone will make the connection point bear force it shouldn’t. Keep the connection area clean and dry; dust and moisture will accelerate thread wear.

If you use a stand, note that common hydraulic lifting stands on the market have a load limit of about 50 kg. If your BBW doll’s weight is close to or exceeds this value, be sure to confirm the load margin before using a stand, to avoid the doll tipping over and being damaged due to an unstable stand.

3. Notes on Changing the Head

Many dolls support head interchangeability, and M16 has high universality. However, specifications may differ between brands. Before changing the head, confirm the threads on the head side and the body side.

Common Questions

The head feels a bit wobbly after installation. What should I do?

First check whether the screw isn’t tightened enough or whether the jaws of the push-in adapter are too loose. You can turn it another half turn, or use a hex key to make a slight adjustment. Don’t use excessive force.

It won’t turn or won’t screw in. What now?

Don’t force it. First check whether the M8/M16 specifications match, whether the angle is crooked, and whether there is foreign matter in the threads. Realign it and try again.

Can I change the head?

Many dolls can, but the specifications must match. M16 has high universality, but not all brands are completely consistent.

Do BBW sex dolls need more frequent maintenance?

Because they’re heavier, it’s recommended to check the connection point every 1–3 months, and always support the head-neck connection area when moving them.

The head angle is wrong after installation. How do I fix it?

If you’re using a multi-angle rotating connector rod, you can adjust the angle and then lock it. If it’s a fully threaded connection, you can only adjust it by rotating the angle; don’t forcibly bend the head.

Final Thoughts

Installing the sex doll head on a bbw sex doll isn’t difficult. The steps are basically the same as for a regular doll. The key is to confirm the connector type and specifications first, then follow the correct steps. Because BBW sex dolls are heavier, the support must be more stable and movements must be slower during operation. Get into the habit of supporting the head and neck during daily handling, and the connection point will bear less force and last longer. Don’t just force it based on feel, and don’t ignore the original manufacturer’s instructions.
